Young's Point General Store is a year round retail business in continuous operation since the early 1900's, and now under new ownership since March 2002.

Young's Point Geeral Store is located less than ½ hour N/E of Peterborough, 30 seconds off Hwy. #28, in the Kawartha Lakes area and is situated 100 metres from Lock #27 on the Trent-Severn Waterway System. Algonquin Park is approx. 1½ hours drive North and the new Kawartha Highlands Park about a ½ hour. Katchewanooka, Clear and Stony Lakes are all just a few moments from our front porch.

Young's Point General Store - newly expanded in 2003 to approx. 6000 square feet - offers to local residents, cottagers and tourists an eclectic selection of specialty foods; fresh fudge, fresh bakery products, ice; imported and domestic liquors, beers and wines; gifts and décor items for home, cottage and garden; lottery tickets; Canada Post outlet; gift and novelty cards; magazines and newspapers; novels and books; etc.

The Loft Studio , found on the second floor of the new addition to the Young's Point General Store , specializes in approx. 10-12 local artists' work - originals, prints, pottery, carvings, etc. - as well as that of other selected artists and artisans. The artwork tends to represent wildlife, cottage scenes and country life, plus field sports such as fly fishing, duck hunting, etc.

Within Young's Point General Store is Young's Point Outfitters (In operation since March 2002), which offers sports fishing equipment such as St. Croix Muskie tackle; Shimano Reels; Fly fishing equipment and hand tied flies for trout, bass, northern pike, muskie, etc; Swift, Ocean Kayak, Liquid Logic and Boreal canoes and kayaks - both sales and rentals; hunting and fishing knives; Ontario MNR hunting and fishing licenses; outdoor casual clothing; field sports and outdoors and wildlife art prints and collectables; etc.
